Set Up an Internship

Step 1: Set Goals and Policies for the Internship Program

Step 2: Write a Plan for the Internship Opportunity

  • Identify goals, timelines, workspace and a general description of the project, create a job description for the position.

Step 3: Recruit a Qualified Intern

  • Begin searching three to four months before you expect a student to start working (choose interns as you would permanent employees)

Step 4: Manage the Intern

  • Lay a good foundation for the intern's experience
  • Provide a proper workstation and resources vital to your interns' success
  • Evaluate the intern's progress periodically and give feedback

Step 5: Conduct Exit Interviews and Follow-up

  • Use the Evaluation Forms for both Interns and Employers to evaluate each other
  • Conduct an Exit Interview to rate the interns experience at your company
  • Document the value of your internship program to ensure your organization is getting a return on its investment

Colorado State University Career Center

The Career Center at CSU has a unique career services delivery model — a central Career Center and staff, as well as Career Center Liaisons housed directly in seven of our eight colleges. These liaisons are ‘experts’ in their collegiate areas and because of our cross-campus service model, we collaborate to assist you in finding the right talent, regardless of where it might be on campus.

The Children's Hospital Medical Career Collaborative (MC²)

We are looking for the next generation of health professionals!

Applications are accepted from high school students in the Denver metro area. MC² gives priority to applicants in their sophomore year who attend high schools in the counties of Denver, Arapahoe, Adams and in some cases Jefferson. If selected, students participate in the two-year program during their junior and senior years. The program places great emphasis on including students of all backgrounds, socio-economic groups, and geographic regions. MC² aims to create an diverse group of students from the metro Denver region.
