Colorado BioScience Association Seeks Region’s Top Innovators for Venture Showcase Competition at 2010 BioWest Conference & Expo

Denver, CO - August 2, 2010 - Organizers of the annual BioWest Conference & Expo are again looking for the best bioscience start-ups in the region as candidates for this year's $7,500 Dorsey & Whitney Venture Showcase Award. The announcement is made by Holli Baumunk, President & CEO of the Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) who says, "four companies will be chosen to present at the showcase on Wednesday, September 29, and will be judged by a panel of venture capitalists. Deadline for entry is Friday, August 20."

CBSA Commends New 'Boettcher Investigators' Biomed Research Grant Program

Denver, CO - July 1, 2010 - In ceremonies held yesterday at the Colorado Governor’s Residence at the Boettcher Mansion, the first class of ‘Boettcher Investigators’ in the Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Program was introduced by Edward D. “Ted” White III, Chairman of the Boettcher Foundation  Board of Trustees.  Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Jr.; Gregory Downey, M.D., Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs at National Jewish Health and Professor of Medicine, Pediatrics and Immunology at University of Colorado’s School of Medicine; and Timothy W. Schultz, President and Executive Director of the Boettcher Foundation, also spoke at this historic event.

Economic Development Executive Holli Baumunk Named President & CEO of the Colorado BioScience Association Effective July 12

Denver, CO – June 22, 2010 – Holli Baumunk, Vice President of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation for the past seven years, has been named President & CEO of the Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) July 12. The announcement is made by Rick Jory, CBSA Board Chairperson, who says Baumunk was unanimously recommended to the board for approval today by the CBSA Executive Search Committee, a subcommittee of the board formed earlier this year following resignation of John Collar. Denise Brown, CBSA’s Founding Executive Director and recently named board member, has been serving as Interim Executive Director of the trade association during the search process.
