I am seeking a scientist position in the state of Colorado. In May of 2007, I received my Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Having had several months to review and assess my long-term career goals, and after consultation with colleagues, I am certain that I would like to continue my scientific career in the private sector.

I am confident that my technical and educational background in molecular biology and immunology would be a valuable asset to any biotech company. I have excellent analytical abilities and a working knowledge of today’s leading areas of life science research. In addition, I am adept at communicating my ideas. Not only did I routinely give public presentations, I have published several peer-reviewed, scientific articles. Furthermore, I was routinely asked by my thesis advisor to review scientific manuscripts submitted for publication.

I believe my educational background, as well as my current ambitions make me an ideal candidate for a medical research position. Always having excelled in math and science in high school, and with a particular interest with human biology, I decided to enter the Biomedical Engineering program through the University of Wisconsin - Madison. This education gave me a great background in engineering, while allowing me to explore exactly how the human body works, and ways in which it might not work. Along with the basic engineering curriculum, I was able to take such courses as Biomaterials, Biomechanics, and Design for Human Disability and Aging. Furthermore, I took all necessary pre-med courses, and was particularly interested in Anatomy, Organic Chemistry, and Genetics. Perhaps the greatest aspects of these courses were the hands-on labs that accompanied them. In particular, the BME program at UW was heavily design orientated, and I was able to participate in many client-based design and research projects.
