Breakfast Keynote: Calaneet Balas, President & CEO, ALS Association
Calaneet Balas became CEO and President of The ALS Association in December 2017. She joined the organization in June 2016 as Chief of Strategy, leading all three mission areas including global research, public policy and care services, which work in an integrated fashion to find a cure, advance treatments and enhance the quality of life for people living with ALS.

She will share how advocacy and outreach at the Association has propelled research funding and awareness. Including the success of the viral social challenge, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge which raised over $115 million in the summer of 2014. Not only did it bring awareness to this devastating disease, it also spurred a huge increase in funding for research. The FDA approved the first new ALS drug in 22 years in 2017.

Value Based Partnerships and Pricing Innovation 
How do key healthcare stakeholders successfully agree on pricing innovation? The panel will explore the concept of value, realized data and how organizations moves from theory to practice in creating successful value-based models.


Strategic Partner Reverse Pitch
 
Increasingly, BD’s from large companies have shown more interest in investing into companies that are strategically aligned with their portfolios. A panel of BD groups and international partners discuss what they are looking for in company partnerships.

Engaging with Non-Profits and Patient Advocacy Groups 
Philanthropic research funding and patient advocacy groups have been able to significantly move the needle with advancement to innovation, patient resources and funding. Companies will discuss their strategies engaging with patient and disease driven non-profit groups to break down funding, regulatory and informational barriers.

Venture Showcase
Three emerging Colorado life science companies pitch their technology to a panel of investors for the $7,500 Venture showcase cash prize. Company presenters to be announced!

Changing Behaviors – new initiatives from physician to patient
With opioid use and misuse on the rise, learn how local pilot programs are modifying behaviors and providing safer alternatives to rethink the role of opioids in pain treatment and how these pilot programs can be utilized to address other healthcare challenges.
