Colorado BioScience Association to Honor Leading Companies and Life Science Pioneers at Awards Dinner

ArcherDX, MiRagen, Biodesix Named Finalists for Company of the Year Award; Double Helix, Impressio and Inscripta Nominated for Rising Star Award

DENVER – Leaders of Colorado’s bioscience sector gather on November 8 to recognize and celebrate the companies and individuals working to improve health and quality of life for people in Colorado and around the world. The fifteenth annual Colorado BioScience Association Awards Dinner honors innovators who are working every day to advance the future of healthcare.

Company of the Year Finalists

ArcherDX is advancing molecular pathology with a robust technology platform for genetic mutation detection by next-generation sequencing.

Biodesix is providing a more complete picture of a patient’s unique lung cancer by harnessing powerful genomic and proteomic information.

miRagen is harnessing the power of microRNA science to develop therapies that normalize biological pathways and counterbalance disease.

Rising Star of the Year Finalists

Double Helix creates vivid 3D nano-scale images so you can see structures down to the single molecule level.

Impressio is focused on developing ultra-dissipative materials for protective equipment such as helmet liners and paddings.

Inscripta is a gene editing technology company dedicated to creating the tools needed to revolutionize how we feed, fuel, and heal humanity.

CBSA will also honor Ran Bellows and Bob Collins, two Colorado bioscience pioneers, with the CBSA Lifetime Achievement Award. Bellows and Collins founded COBE Laboratories in 1964 and made significant contributions to establish the life science sector in our state. Today, COBE Laboratories is Terumo BCT, which employs nearly 7,000 associates throughout with world.

During the celebration, CBSA and Boettcher Foundation will recognize the 2018 Class of Boettcher Investigators in the Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards Program. The prestigious award funds promising, early-career scientific researchers, allowing them to advance their independent research and compete for major federal and private awards in the future. Each Boettcher Investigator will receive a $235,000 grant to support up to three years of biomedical research.

Additional awards include: Educator of the Year, Institute Leadership, Business Partner of the Year and Chairman’s Award.

Mike Biselli, founder of Catalyst HTI and Colorado BioScience Association Board of Directors Member, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event and Mile High United Way President & CEO Christine Benero will present the keynote address.

Event Details

The event will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency Denver from 5:00-8:30 p.m. Sponsorships are $1,500 for a table of eight and $175 for an individual ticket.
